Nature Walkabouts
Arusí-Roñosa
We will walk through the tropical forest of the bio-geographic Chocó, know the different ecosystems and interaction between species, see some wildlife, and last but not least, we will do some simple awareness-exercises to allow our perception to be present and to connect with the nature with us.
We start in Arusí, at the west end. Then with a boat and a lever, we slide through the river surrounded by mangrove to the starting point at the other side. From there we walk trough the jungle up and down to Roñosa's Waterfall where we can swim in the pool. After lunch and some rest, we will come back using the same path.
For this walkabout you will need:
comfortable, flexible and long pants! Legg-ins, yoga pants, hiking pants (the cool synthetic ones that dry fast) are great. Jeans are a VERY bad idea! Cotton will get wet fast, they will turn heavy, hot and will limit your passe.
comfortable shirt or t-shirt (those with technical fabrics for outdoors are the best!)
hat/cap to protect yourself from the sun
sunscreen
mosquito spray
a bottle with water/to be filled with water (at least 650ml)
boots (we will give them to you)
socks to use the boots
swimming suit and towel if you want to swim
a small back-pack to put your stuff
a plastic/dry bag to put all the stuff that should not get wet. In case it rains, you put it on that bag, and then the bag inside the backpack.
joy, curiosity, openness and respect! ;)
The guide speaks English, German and Spanish.

Experience time: aprox 6hrs
Distance: 12km
Max altitud: aprox 80mts

Partadó River
This experience brings together the mangroves, the rainforest and the river in a relative short time. There is an additional bonus by walking through a "potrero" (cattle paddock) and some plantations from the locals where we have a conversation about culture and landscape transformation.
We start from your hotel, and walk to the starting point close to the Partadó-river. From there we pass the mangrove, the paddock and we enter the jungle. After a 35min walk, we meet the river, and walk up through it for another 10min until we find a nice natural pool. From there the plan is flexible. We can walk more up in the river and observe some plantations from the locals, or we can refresh ourselves in the pool for a longer time.
From the perspective of difficulty, it is easier than the Roñosa-Aursí trail: it's flat and one only has to be careful with some swampy parts.
We might get to see and hear some wildlife, find tracks on the sand and last but not least, we will do some simple awareness-exercises to allow our perception to be present and to connect with the nature with us.

This is a great experience for a long, but easy walk, where we will take a relaxed walk through the coast line, enjoy the ecosystem of the tropical forest and the river Terco with its waterfall.
We start from your hotel, and use the low tide to walk along the coast line to the west end of the Arusí bay. From there we enter Terco river, and walk quitely trough the water until we reach the waterfall. We might get to see and hear some wildlife, find tracks on the sand and last but not least, we will do some simple awareness-exercises to allow our perception to be present and to connect with the nature with us.
